Church Saint Martin

L'église paroissiale de Septfontaines est dédiée à saint Martin (315-397), l'évêque de Tours particulièrement vénéré par les Francs. Sa fondation semble remonter au haut Moyen Age. A cette époque les terres de Septfontaines ont appartenu à l'abbaye d'Echternach avant de devenir propriété de la seigneurie locale. Jusqu'à la fin de l'Ancien Régime, celle-ci a gardé la mainmise sur l'église en se réservant le droit de nommer les bénéficiaires de la cure.
