Jazz concert

MÖP brings together three musicians with distinctive artistic voices: Benoit Martiny on drums, Murat Öztürk on piano and Laurent Payfert on double bass. Born from a desire to merge their musical worlds and challenge the conventions of the jazz trio, this unique ensemble has developed a shared musical language in which roles are constantly reimagined and each musician is equally a composer, performer and creative collaborator.

Their original compositions draw on influences ranging from contemporary jazz and rock to world music and contemporary music. These diverse inspirations create a space for collective improvisation, where mutual listening and the energy of the moment shape every performance. The result is a captivating sonic journey, like wandering through an imaginary city where each neighbourhood reveals a different musical landscape.

The project grew out of a residency at the cultural centre opderschmelz in Dudelange in February 2025 and resulted in the live album MÖP City.

More than a concert, MÖP invites audiences on a shared musical adventure, where every piece becomes an opportunity for discovery, driven by creativity, emotion and the freedom of improvisation.
