Bachibouzouk
Philippe Saire
One ever-so-dreamy teenager, two slightly reckless bachibouzouks — and a whirlwind adventure of leaps and spins!.
.
On stage, enormous tarps swell like sails, take flight, then float gently down like picnic blankets, while Vivaldi’s Four Seasons fills the air. Choreographer Philippe Saire conjures a cascade of strikingly evocative scenes to chart the coming-of-age journey of a young boy, jolted awake in the middle of the night and plunged into a topsy-turvy world. As he explores this shifting universe, he encounters a quirky duo — part clowns, part angels, at times sailors, at times cowboys, but always mischievous. With gleeful deter mination, they scatter obstacles in his path, turning this nocturnal escapade into a joyful lesson in life and self-discovery.
