Information about the company

AGORA creates cross-border and cross-language theatre that appeals to everyone: children, teenagers, and adults. Due to its exceptional geographical location — at the tri-border area of Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg — this multilingual theater has become an institution of border experience. It explores the connections and differences between German-speaking, French-speaking, and Flemish culture, between identity and plurality, and between rural and urban areas. AGORA performs throughout Europe and has received numerous awards. The ensemble is driven by the desire to understand. Through and with theatre, they seek an active and powerful stance within the society that surrounds them. They continuously pose the question to the audience and to themselves: ​“What to do?”
