The Luxembourgish language(s)
From 8 to 27 June, our exhibition “The Luxembourgish Language(s)” will be on display in Niederanven at the sports hall “Am Sand”.
In principle, the exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on the following dates:
- Saturday, 13 June, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, 20 June, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, 23 June, the exhibition will be closed
- Saturday, 27 June, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Are you curious about the language situation in Luxembourg? Then we invite you to discover the travelling exhibition “The Luxembourgish language(s)” by the Zenter fir d’Lëtzebuerger Sprooch (ZLS).
The exhibition invites visitors to engage with the topic of language and languages.
The title is deliberately ambiguous and is intended to reflect Luxembourg’s complex linguistic situation.
The exhibition covers, among others, the following themes: multilingualism, linguistic
varieties and dialects, history, linguistic evolution and the Luxembourgish language in literature and in the media.
In particular, the following aspects are highlighted:
- What does official and societal multilingualism look like in Luxembourg?
- What is Luxembourgish and how does it work today?
- How has the Luxembourgish language evolved over the last 200 years?
Besides audiovisual material, the exhibition also features interactive elements, allowing you to actively participate using your smartphone.
