Intimacy
Florentin Ginot & Germain Zambi
Intimacy is a story of encounters: between a dancer and a double bassist, but also, more unexpectedly, between age-old musical treasures and krump..
.
This one-of-a-kind duet is rooted in a journey through the oral heritage of popular songs and dances from Galicia, Scotland, and Ireland. Authentic, vibrant, and free, these pieces — imbued with an instinctive poetic quality — have been rearranged by Florentin Ginot for double bass and an array of traditional instruments, then subtly enriched with electronic textures.
A dialogue with the past that Germain Zambi captures, reshapes, and spins around the circle — an emblematic figure in krump, the urban dance form born in early-2000s Los Angeles. Moving between stomps, armswings, chest pops, and buck faces, he emerges within this sonic landscape, inviting the audience to step into his intimate space.
