The Syre, a river with many faces

Une randonnée de 3 jours de la source à l’embouchure 

Découvrez le magnifique avant-pays des régions Guttland et Moselle avec leurs vieux vergers, forêts de conifères et villages pittoresques. En vous promenant le long de la rivière Syre, vous trouverez deux importantes réserves naturelles classées dans le réseau européen Natura 2000 : la "Schlammwiss" avec ses zones humides, et la " Manternacher Fiels " avec son impressionnante forêt de canyons et son sentier de randonnée premium, la boucle de rêve. Une fois passé le château de Betzdorf, siège actuel du premier fournisseur mondial de services de télécommunications par satellite SES, vous pouvez remarquer que la Syre, initialement modeste, se transforme lentement en un véritable fleuve à fort courant. Enfin, vous atteindrez le village viticole de Mertert le long de la Moselle, où vous vous promènerez dans son magnifique parc avec un étang d'environ 3 000 m2, un château et un jardin anglais. Des dégustations locales et régionales font de cette randonnée une expérience unique !

• 1ère étape : Syren – Munsbach gare ferroviaire (GF) 
• 2e étape : Munsbach GF – Betzdorf GF 
• 3e étape : Betzdorf GF – Mertert GF
   

Distance: chaque étape compte environ 16 km

Des déviations de l'itinéraire sont possibles en raison des conditions météorologiques !

Les départs de la 2e et 3e étape peuvent sont facilement accessibles en train, à l'exception de la 1ière étape qui peut être attein en voiture, en taxi ou par les transports en public (ligne de bus n° 170).

Le circuit peut être réservé dans son intégralité ou en étapes individuelles avec ou sans hébergement dans une des structures d’hébergement de la région.

Eine dreitägige Wanderung von der Quelle bis zur Mündung

Entdecken Sie die Landschaft der zwei Regionen Guttland und Mosel mit ihren alten Obstgärten, Nadelwäldern und malerischen Dörfern. Bei einem Spaziergang entlang der Syre durchqueren Sie zwei wichtige Naturschutzgebiete, die im europäischen Netz Natura 2000 klassifiziert sind: die "Schlammwiss" mit ihren Feuchtgebieten und die "Manternacher Fiels" mit seinem beeindruckenden Schluchtwald und der gleichnamigen Traumschleife. Wenn Sie am Schloss Betzdorf, den heutigen Sitz des weltweit führenden Anbieters von Satellitenkommunikationsdiensten SES, vorbei gewandert sind, werden Sie feststellen, dass sich die zunächst bescheidene Syre langsam in einen richtigen Fluss mit starker Strömung verwandelt. Schließlich erreichen Sie das Weindorf Mertert an der Mosel, wo Sie einen Spaziergang durch seinen schönen Park mit einem etwa 3.000 m2 großen Teich, einem Schloss und einem englischen Garten unternehmen. Lokale und regionale Verkostungen machen diese Wanderung zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis!

• 2. Etappe: Munsbach Bhf - Betzdorf Bfh
• 3. Etappe: Betzdorf Bhf - Mertert Bhf
   

Distanz: jede Etappe zählt +/- 16 KM

Witterungsbedingte Abweichungen von der Route sind möglich!

Die Abfahrten der 2. und 3. Etappe sind mit dem Zug erreichbar, während die 1. Etappe mit Bus (Buslinie 170), Auto oder Taxi  erreicht werden kann.

Die Tour kann als Ganzes oder in einzelnen Etappen mit oder ohne Unterbringung in einer der Unterkünfte der Regionen gebucht werden.

3-day-hike from the source to the river mouth 

Discover the beautiful foreland of the Guttland and Moselle regions with their old orchards, beech forests and picturesque villages. Hiking along the Syre river, you will find two important nature reserves listed in the European Natura 2000 network: the “Schlammwiss” with its wetlands, and the “Manternacher Fiels” with its impressive canyon forest and premium hiking trail, the so-called “Dream loop”. After passing the Betzdorf castle, current headquarter of the world's leading provider of satellite telecommunication services SES, you can notice that the initially small Syre river, slowly turns into a proper river with strong currents. Finally, you’ll reach the wine-growing village of Mertert along the Moselle river, where you’ll walk through its magnificent park with a pond of about 3,000 m2, a castle and an English garden. Local and regional tastings make this hike a unique experience!                             

• 1st  stage : Syren – Munsbach railway station (RS) 
• 2nd stage : Munsbach RS – Betzdorf RS 
• 3rd stage : Betzdorf RS – Mertert RS
   

Distance: each stage counts about 16 km

Route deviations are possible due to weather conditions!

Departures of 2nd and 3rd stage can be easily reached by train. Stage 1 can be reached by car, taxi or public transport (busline n° 170).

The tour can be booked in its entirety or in individual stages with or without accommodation in one of the accommodation facilities in the region.
