This 3-hours guided tour delivers you a detailed view within the dismantling and extraction processes from the slate up to the finished product.
Descend 42 m into the underground mine and let yourself be surprised about the size and the dimensions of the huge chambers, seeing the challenges the underground dismantling involved at the same time. Additionally, you will learn more about the importance of the site through history facts and a demonstration of a quarryman’s work.
The guided tour recommends a good level of fitness as about 250 steps and 42m of altitude are to be taken. The time spent underground will be approx. 90 minutes.
