This 3-hour guided tour offers you a complete view of the area of the ancient slate quarries, the „Ardoisières de Haut-Martelange“.
Learn more about the beginnings and the history of the site, the functioning of the different buildings, the family Rother, the village itself as well as the slatestone, from its excavation to the finished product. The work of the former quarry men will be shown through a film dating back to 1938, a visit of the underground mine Rosset (-15 m) and a demonstration of how to work the slate.
The guided tour will lead to the smaller underground mine with 40 steps and 15m of altitude to pass. The time spent underground will be about 30 minutes.
